Audacy Elevates In NoCal With a New Bay Area Leader Named

Effective June 7, the Audacy radio stations serving the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose region will have a new Regional VP and Market Manager.

It’s an appointment that comes just weeks after Cumulus Media’s crosstown stations named a new VP/Market Manager. And, it is the result of Audacy’s current RVP/Manager in Northern California getting a bump up to a national sales role at the company formerly known as Entercom.

The moves see longtime Sacramento radio executive Stacey Kauffman taking on oversight of the broadcast, digital and “live experience assets” for KGMZ-AM “CHANNEL Q,” Alternative KITS-FM “ALT 105.3,” Hot Adult Contemporary KLLC-FM “[email protected],” News KCBS-AM, Rhythmic Adult Contemporary KRBQ-FM “Q102.1,” and Sports KGMZ-FM “95.7 The Game.”

Kauffman is gaining the role as Greg Nemitz is promoted to the role of SVP for Audacy’s National Partnerships team. In this role, he will manage West Coast sales and operations.

Nemitz joined Audacy as part of the CBS Radio merger in 2017. Prior to the merger, he was VP/Director of Sales and General Manager for what was CBS Radio/San Francisco. Prior to that, Nemitz was a longtime sales leader with the former ABC Radio (stations now owned by Cumulus) in San Francisco.

Audacy Regional President Doug Abernethy, who Kauffman reports to, commented, “Stacey has demonstrated incredible leadership in every phase of the game. She builds an incredible team culture that produces results. It is an honor to work alongside her and promote her to Regional Vice President.”

Kauffman added, “It is truly a privilege to get to work with these legendary brands and people who make a positive impact for our audiences, advertisers and community every day.”

Kauffman has been SVP/Market Manager for the Audacy stations in Sacramento since 2018. Before that, she served as Director of Sales and as GSM for the stations, a role she took in 2015. Before that, Kauffman was in various sales positions at Hubbard Radio, Urban One and at WFMS-FM in Indianapolis under Susquehanna Radio ownership.

With Kauffman’s promotion, Audacy/San Francisco VP/Sales Kieran Geffert is taking on Sacramento duties.

“Kieran has been consistently successful at every role she’s held as she’s risen through the ranks in her 30 years with the company,” said Kauffman. “I know that will continue in this elevated position and thrilled for the opportunity to both internally promote, and to partner with Kieran in Northern California.”

Across town, Cumulus in early April named Larry Blumhagen its San Francisco-Oakland VP/Market Manager. From 2006-2015, he was CBS Radio’s GSM for San Francisco — stations that now comprise Audacy’s Bay Area holdings.
