“Serial entrepreneur” Paul English has sold a podcast discovery app to the company led by David Field.
According to the Boston Globe, the acquisition involves Moonbeam.
English did not share with the newspaper how much he’s pocketing from the spin.
But, he told the newspaper it is a big enough sum to fund Boston Venture Studio’s operations for two years.
The Moonbeam technology, English said, “will probably be the centerpiece of Audacy’s podcast tech.”
Moonbeam launched in June 2021.
English is best known for the sale of travel website Kayak to what was then Priceline.com in 2013 for nearly $2 billion.
The news came as Audacy Corp. shares improved by nearly 16% on Tuesday, recovering from an all-time slow.
