As of June 5, Backchannel Media’s Clickable TV has been operational for 400 days on WCVB ABC Channel 5 in Boston. According to Director of Marketing Eric Martin, the technical trial has been going extremely well with market trial test homes. “Our preliminary data shows that people tend to click more on advertisements when the show they are watching is “clickable,” and also that people don’t stop using it after a few clicks – they keep clicking again on shows and advertisements. TV stations across the country are starting to sign up and deploy Clickable TV, and realizing the potential added interactive inventory that is possible on television.”
