Barbara Walters to make her first appearance on ‘The View,’ since undergoing heart surgery. “The View” creator and executive producer and co-host Barbara Walters is confirmed to appear live, via Skype©, exclusively on “The View” MONDAY, JULY 12, (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), in what will be Ms. Walters’ first nationally televised appearance since undergoing heart valve replacement surgery in May. The announcement was made today by Bill Geddie, executive producer, “The View.”

On May 10, 2010, Ms. Walters told a stunned audience: “You know how healthy I have been – never missed a day’s work. Later this week, I am going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve. Lots of people have done this. I have known of this condition for a while now, and my doctors and I have decided that this is the best time to do the surgery, since the summer is coming up, I can take a nice vacation. Earlier this morning, I told my wonderful pals here, as I am now telling you, and it will be a surprise to many friends, but I thought it best not to talk about it too far in advance. I love you all,” she added.

“The View” features Daytime Emmy® award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd.
