Bears rampage on Wall Street – 8/4/11

Fears of a worsening economic climate around the world – particularly in Europe, where the debt crisis just keeps spreading – prompted a wave of selling Thursday on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 513 points, or 4.3%, to 11,384 – putting the blue chip barometer in negative territory for 2011. Broadcasting stocks did not escape the carnage.


The RBR Radio Index was down 17.142, or 5.3%, to 304.376.

The TVBR Television Index was down 20.534, or 8.3%, to 226.138.
