When CBS Radio completed its merger with Entercom, the individual serving as VP/GM of its former Classic Rock station in Los Angeles departed, and took a job as COO of a Southern California-based advertising agency.

Now, this individual is back in the radio business, and will lead Beasley Media Group‘s radio stations in Southern Nevada.

Effective immediately, Peter W. Burton will serve as VP/Market Manager of Beasley’s Las Vegas stations. He succeeds veteran radio executive Dennis Gwiazdon, who has exited the company after 15 months in the role.

Burton, for the last 15 months, has been COO of Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Converze Media. But, from May 2008 through December 2017, he led the former KSWD-FM 100.3 “The Sound,” now owned by Educational Media Foundation and used for its KLOVE Christian Contemporary format.

Burton came to KSWD after serving for seven years as Director of Sales for Lincoln Financial Media in San Diego; those stations are now owned by Entercom.

From 1995-2000, Burton was VP/GSM of Sentry Radio Sales, a division of former radio company AMFM Inc.

He began his career in 1991 as New York Sales Manager for CBS Radio.

“Peter’s leadership experience, combined with his extensive background in digital and sales, made him the perfect choice for the position,” said Beasley Media Group EVP/COO Brian Beasley. “We look forward to him taking our Las Vegas cluster to the next level.”

Burton added, “Las Vegas is one of the most dynamic growth markets in the country. The Beasley family has assembled a group of radio stations with amazing potential. I’m thankful for the opportunity to join their team.”

Beasley’s Las Vegas stations are comprised of Talk KDWN-AM 720; Rhythmic Oldies KOAS-FM 105.7; Hot AC KVGS-FM 107.9; Classic Hits KKLZ-FM 96.3; and Country KCYE-FM 102.7 “The Coyote.”
