A Christmas tradition now for troops around the globe: Originating for 10 years out of Beasley Broadcast’s SW Florida radio cluster, it’s a heartfelt gift and tribute to our troops stationed overseas, as well as a holiday companion for all. “Christmas Across the Lands” is written, produced, and hosted by Randy Sherwyn-PD for their Sunny 106 WJPT-FM and 106.3 HD2 Solid Gold 106.

The 12-hour radio Christmas show airs mainly on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in markets across the globe. In SW Florida, Beasley will air it on Sunny 106 beginning Christmas Eve Morning at 9am and it will then run for 36 consecutive hours.

The 11th Annual “Christmas Across the Lands” for 2010 is a fresh mix of music and interviews. With the support of the American Forces Network-Radio (AFN Radio), the show has become an annual signature event for troops stationed overseas and for ships at sea during the Holiday Season.  This year it will be heard by military personnel stationed in over 177 countries around the globe. The Canadian Forces Network/Europe (CFN) also airs it across Europe and NATO HQ. It will also air nationwide and in Canada, West Indies, Cayman Islands, New Zealand, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Philippines and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Said Beasley Southwest Florida Market Manager, Brad Beasley: “We all need what Randy’s created – a comforting message of hope and peace.  We’re thankful to Randy for this opportunity to entertain the brave men and women serving our country in such a meaningful way.”
