Benne Broadcasting already has a pair of stations serving the area of Missouri to the southwest of state capital Jefferson City and Arbitron market Columbia MO. Soon it will have a third.
The station being bought is KTKS-FM Versailles MO. The seller is Twin Lakes Communications Inc., headed by Douglas A. Fisher.
Dennis F. Benne is the principal of the buyer.
The price for the station will be $500K in a deal that is mostly backloaded. $10K has gone into escrow, and that will feed into a total of $100K that will be paid in cash at closing, less any amount paid under an LMA for the station that began 11/1/12. The LMA rent is $3K monthly.
That leaves $400K, which will be covered by a promissory note.
KTKS-FM is a Country Class C3 on 95.1 MHz with 12.5 kW @ 463’.
It will double up with Hot AC KLOZ-FM Eldon MO, a Class C2 on 92.7 MHz with 31 kW @ 620.
The primary contour of KTKS-FM also comes close to but does not overlap that of Classic Hits KQUL-FM Lake Ozark, a Class A on 102.7 MHz with 6 kW @ 328’.
