The SVP/Finance of ViacomCBS’s Global Media Operations division will on July 1 shift to CBS News to take on CFO duties for the news division of the company.
Taking those duties is CBS veteran Stacey Benson. She will report to Susan Zirinsky, President and Senior Executive Producer of CBS News, and Bryon Rubin, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for CBS.
“Stacey is an innovative financial professional who understands CBS News,” said Zirinsky. “She has done amazing work for CBS, and we look forward to her being an integral member of the News division.”
Benson’s tenure at CBS Corporation is largely represented by her now-defunct role as SVP/Finance at CBS Radio, now a part of Entercom. She was in that role for 15 years, overseeing all financial operations. She led the division through its initial public offering preparation and its sale to Entercom in 2017 in a tax-free Reverse Morris Trust merger.
Benson began her tenure at CBS Radio in 2002 as a controller, rising to VP/Controller. She was named Senior Vice President of Finance in 2012.
Benson holds a B.S. in Accounting from SUNY Plattsburgh and is a 1993 graduate.
