A limited number of members of the general public will be able to attend a black-tie Inaugural Ball with top flight entertainment, well-known guests and no less a venue than the Smithsonian National Art Museum.
The members of the guest list aren’t listed for the 1/21/13 9M-2A event, but the slate of entertainers will include Wayne Brady as host, along with Bell Biv Devoe, Doug E. Fresh, Frederic Yonnet, MC Lyte and DJs Jermaine Dupri along with DJ Kiss, DJ D-Nice and DJ Quick Silva.
BET said the event is being presented by AT&T and sponsored by Marriott, Moet Hennessy USA, Perennial Sports & Marketing, Southern Company, Wal-Mart and Wells-Fargo.
RBR-TVBR observation: Why didn’t we think of this? Of course, budget restraints would likely limit the RBR-TVBR Inaugural Event to entertainment from the local 4th grade beginning string class sawing away like a bunch of milk-starved kittens, in a medium-sized space rented temporarily from the local personal storage facility. Catering will be in the form of a “cluckbucket” available from the local Western Sizzlin’, with a special political appearance by a local pizza delivery man whose attempt to win the office of dog-catcher as a write-in third party candidate produced a groundswell of support that left him only seven votes shy of a double-digit total. At 10PM sharp a local senior citizen will take a time out from the competition at the local bingo parlor to bring around an eight-by-ten glossy photograph of the President. Be there or be square!
