Beyoncé among performers for Grammy Awards

With 10 nominations, it was pretty much a lock that Beyoncé would be invited to perform on “The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards,” to be broadcast Sunday, January 31st on CBS. Several other performers were also announced on Tuesday.

With eight nominations, some of them in competition with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift is also on the initial list of performers. So far, though, no mention of Kanye West. He was a performer at last year’s Grammys, months before his infamous September appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards, in which he grabbed the mic from Best Female Video winner Taylor Swift and declared that Beyoncé’s entry in the category was “one of the best videos of all time.” West has six Grammy nominations this time around.

In addition, to Beyoncé and Swift, Grammy nominees The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Maxwell are in the first group of performers announced for the January telecast. More will be named later.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards are produced by John Cossette Productions and AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich and John Cossette are executive producers, Louis J. Horvitz is director.
