Not that anyone expected CBS to shelve a successful show while it was still producing good ratings, but it is official now that “Big Brother” will be back for an 11th edition in the Summer of 2009.

Big Brother concluded its 10th edition last Tuesday, September 16th, with 25-year-old Catholic school teacher Dan Gheesling aswinner of the top prize. Big Brother 10 averaged nearly seven million viewers this summer, 2.4/07 in adults 18-49 and 3.0/08 in adults 25-54, even airing opposite the Summer Olympics on NBC for part of the run.

Big Brother is executive produced by Allison Grodner, Rich Meehan and Scott Einziger, in association with Endemol USA Inc. Julie Chen hosts the live eviction broadcast.
