Big finish for Dance Moms

Wednesday’s season one finale of Lifetime’s hit docu-series Dance Moms ended with a big finish, becoming the most watched episode of the season with 1.8 million Total Viewers, according to Nielsen Research.


Based on its season one success and growing demand among viewers, next Wednesday, October 12, at 10:00pm ET/PT Lifetime will air Dance Moms: Most Outrageous Moments, a one-hour special hosted by the series’ infamous dance instructor Abby Lee Miller re-visiting this season’s most talked-about highlights.

The most talked-about series this summer and Lifetime’s fastest-growing show, over the past four weeks, Dance Moms has averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers (up 70% vs. its debut week), 816,000 Adults 25-54 (+42%), 965,000 Adults 18-49 (+82%), 751,000 Women 18-49 (+81%) and 642,000 Women 25-54 (+47%).  With a median age of 37, Dance Moms is Lifetime’s youngest skewing original program.  Online, the Dance Moms site on myLifetime.com has attracted 1.25 million unique visitors, 2.5 million visits, 9 million page views and 9 million video views season-to-date, according to Omniture.  Since its July 13th premiere, Dance Moms has been viewed by more than 60 million viewers across all platforms, including linear, online and VOD.

Last week Lifetime renewed Dance Moms for a second season, ordering 13 new episodes that will feature Miller, her world-class students, their mothers and all of the sequins, costumes and fiery catfights among themselves as they begin a new season of frenetic dance competitions.
