East Tennessee Radio Group is mourning Bill Burkett, who lost a battle with cancer. Burkett, who had been station manager for both WSEV –FM and WPFT-FM Sevierville, TN, was 66.
In addition to his management position, Burkett had been on air at WSEV as well. He and East Tennessee Radio Group owner Paul Fink had worked together for more than two decades, going back to when the two helped establish WLMX-FM Chattanooga. In an interview with The Mountain Press Fink called Burkett “One of the best guys you would ever meet.”
Arrangements are pending at the Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville.
