In 1956, Dorothy Laird launched a Class B AM radio station in the Wisconsin town of Waupaca, forming Laird Broadcasting. In 1967, she delved into the budding riches of FM radio by adding a Class A FM in Waupaca.
The stations were handed to her son, Bill Laird, who has continued to run them and holds a Construction Permit for a new FM radio station in the town between Stevens Point and Appleton, Wisc.
Now, Laird is retiring, and he’s agreed to sell the properties.
