Blizzard Means Filing Waivers for Some

FCC

The FCC is giving everyone extra time to file documents.

Because of the blizzard that hit the Washington metropolitan area, the federal government closed early Friday, Jan. 22, and was closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Recognizing the disruptions caused by the weather, the FCC is giving stations a grace period for all documents that were due during the closures.

All electronic and paper filings that were due Jan. 22 to Jan. 27 are now due Thursday, Jan. 28.

Exceptions are the Network Outage Reporting System notifications and reports and filings that are subject to statutory deadlines.
