Former WPOW-FM “Power 96” Miami morning co-host Bo Griffin, whose career took her to TV as well, has died of intestinal cancer. She was 51.

“Bo the Party Animal” was a star of the Beasley station for much of the 1980s and ’90s on the “Mindy and Bo Morning Show.” Her work on local radio and TV in Miami led to TV work in LA. Her love of clothing design merged with her media career when she became host and fashiion designer of “The Big Reveal” for HGTV.

Most recently, Griffin had owned a boutique in her hometown of Greenville, SC, but WFOR-TV (CBS) Miami reported that she had sold the business and was preparing to move back to LA to work as a correspondent for “Extra,” which she had done in the past.

The TV station quoted current Power 96 morning host DJ Laz as saying, “The world has lost an amazing talent today. Bo, you were my friend, my co-worker and my mentor for many years. You inspired everyone that was fortunate to hear your voice. May you rest in peace. God bless.”
