Bob Doll was a DJ, manager, owner and consultant for radio stations over a long career, along with founding the Small Market Radio Newsletter. He died June 1st in San Antonio, TX at age 77.

“The entire radio community has lost a true friend and great ambassador for small market stations. Bob’s encyclopedic knowledge of small-town radio was surpassed only by his friendly demeanor. His presence at this year’s Radio Show will be sadly missed, but he won’t soon be forgotten,” said NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton.

Doll held the title of Editor Emeritus after selling the newsletter in 1983 and continued to contribute to the publication until his death.
