NAPLES, FLA. — The individual who has served as VP/Market Manager of Beasley Media Group‘s six-station group in its home market of Fort Myers-Naples has been promoted to a new corporate-level position at the company his family founded nearly 60 years ago.

The elevation of Brad Beasley results in the return to Southwest Florida of its Director of Local Market Integrated Partnerships at Beasley Esports and Market Manager of Beasley’s Wilmington, Del., FM.

As of today, Brad Beasley holds the role of VP/Operations at Beasley Media Group. As such, AJ Lurie is taking Mr. Beasley’s previous role, putting him in control of a group of properties comprised of personality-fueled Rocker WRXK-FM “96KRock;” Top 40 WXKB-FM “B103.9;” Soft Adult Contemporary WJPT-FM “Sunny 106.3;” gold-based Tropical “Playa,” which airs on three FM translators; and Talk WJBX-AM 770 and FM translators W282BY and W268AH.

For Brad Beasley, his new role will see him working closely with two relatives — President Bruce Beasley and Chief Operating Officer Brian Beasley. And, Brad will oversee the day-to-day operations of all 64 Beasley Media Group radio brands.

Before rising to lead Beasley’s Southwest Florida radio stations, he was PD/GM of 96K-Rock, known for its “Stan and Haney” afternoon program and the importation of Dave & Chuck the Freak from Beasley-owned WRIF-FM in Detroit in morning drive.

“I look forward to this exciting new phase of my broadcasting career,” said Brad Beasley. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work alongside our corporate team and with all of our great stations across the country.”

Another relative, CEO Caroline Beasley, noted that the company is “thrilled to welcome Brad to our corporate team. His personal insight, experience and leadership will be valuable in our markets as he works closely with our teams on a daily basis throughout the company.”

Lurie is a Seminole — a Florida State University grad, that is. And, he started his career as an AE for Beasley’s Fort Myers-Naples stations. He most recently held the top role for Beasley-owned WJBR-FM 99.5, an Adult Contemporary station primarily serving Wilmington, Del., in addition to his Local Market Integrated Partnerships post for Beasley Esports, an important arm of the audio media company.

Said Caroline Beasley, “AJ was the perfect choice to lead our six radio properties in Southwest Florida. His leadership and previous experience working in the market made him the perfect choice for the position. We look forward to AJ working closely with our teams to take the cluster to the next level and beyond.”

Lurie currently serves as the Chairman of the Board on behalf of the State Broadcasters Association of Maryland, DC, and Delaware.
