Breaking news shifts votes

Tuesday evening’s revelation from the Wall Street Journal website that things had gone awry for the Clear Channel buyout certainly shifted voting in the poll posted this week on RBR.com and TVBR.com. “When will the Clear Channel buyout close?” we asked. Through Tuesday afternoon about two-thirds of the readers registering their opinion had predicted a near-term closing, either March or April. Since Tuesday evening the votes have been overwhelmingly for “Never.” That choice is now approaching 50%, with less than 40% for either March or April, even those the early votes cast are still tallied.

The injunction granted by a judge in San Antonio, TX that ordered the banks to fund the buyout didn’t have any noticeable impact on the poll voting. Apparently our readers don’t think a court order counts as much as an actual transfer of cash.
