Wall Street was disappointed by a Labor Department report that new claims for unemployment benefits rose last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was off 24 points, or 0.2%, at 11,732. Broadcasting stocks, however, had an up day, with continued excitement about possible station sales by Emmis.
The RBR Radio Index was up 8.379, or 2.3%, to 371.325.
The TVBR Television Index was up 2.078, or 0.9%, to 222.664.
