The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Iowa has selected five honorees for its 2011 BBB Integrity Awards. One of them is a radio broadcaster.

KMRY-AM Cedar Rapids, owned by Sellers Broadcasting, is one of the companies honored by the BBB for operating “at the pinnacle of ethics, honesty and integrity.” Company President Rick Sellers, pictured, will accept the honor April 14th at a luncheon in Des Moines.

You can’t get those qualities from a book or an annual report, but you will get them at these five organizations,” said Iowa BBB President Chris Coleman in announcing the 20111 award sinners.

“As the licensee of this radio station, I take very seriously the credo the FCC set in motion back in 1934: to ‘serve the public interest, convenience and necessity.’  How we go about adhering to this original broadcaster directive affect both our advertisers AND audience in a positive manner, and I am very gratified that the Better Business Bureau has chosen to award us for these local efforts!” said Sellers.
