Some decent earnings reports and strong orders for aircraft announced by Boeing gave the stock markets a boost on Monday, although broadcasting stocks were left out. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 57 points, or 0.6%, to 10,154. While radio and TV stocks were down generally, Radio One plunged 21.5% to 89 cents after announcing difficulties with its refinancing effort.
The RBR Radio Index was down 6.189, or 2.3%, to 258.915.
The TVBR Television Index was down 0.334, or 0.2%, to 175.132.
