Gainesville, FL – The Division of Media Properties in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida is looking for a creative self-starter to fill the Director of Media Services (Broadcasting Coordinator II) position. This position is an experienced production and public relations professional who serves as the primary leader, manager and content creator for the media properties’ efforts related to multimedia production and projects such as the University’s commencement events and positioning UF experts and faculty on national and international network platforms through live interview talkbacks originating in the media properties facilities. As the Director of the Media Services, this person must lead in an environment that encompasses working with the University of Florida and private/commercial sectors and, in many cases, serving as the bridge between those entities. The Director of Media Services will be responsible for helping with internal and external promotions of the Media Properties public and commercial radio/TV stations. Must be familiar with the look, feel and process of the highest quality multimedia, the director understands how media organizations use video, studio and social media content to appeal to viewers on a local, statewide and global scale. This position oversees various operating budgets and has oversight of professional media content developed for UF’s media properties, customers and clients.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years in broadcast news, video public relations or studio productions as a director, writer, producer, reporter (or similar). Full working knowledge of Adobe Premiere editing system. Long & short content writing skills, these include but not limited to commercial & underwriting mentions, news specific writing structures (News Package, Vo, Vo/sots) and long form shows.
