Buick adding Pandora as standard feature

0

Pandora is coming to Buick’s 2012 Verano, Regal, LaCrosse this year, and will be in all 2013 Models, starting with the Enclave: The music discovery service will be integrated in Buick IntelliLink, the luxury brand’s in-car infotainment system.

Like most other vehicles offering Pandora, Buick IntelliLink uses Bluetooth or USB to connect the driver’s smartphone to a new 7- or 8-inch, high-resolution, full-color touch screen display radio. The system offers three methods by which drivers can access and navigate their personalized Pandora stations: controls on the touch screen display radio, buttons on the steering wheel, and voice commands.

RBR-TVBR observation: It’s interesting that Pandora beat HD Radio to the dash in Buick. Of course, satellite radio beat them both, but for GM, HD Radio is only scheduled for the 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan, and then move to additional new models. HD Radio is still ahead of Pandora, but it’s becoming a horse race. So far, HD Radio is or will also be available as a factory installed feature in Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, MINI USA, Rolls-Royce, Scion, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
