Building ‘A Brighter Digital Future,’ With Women In Leadership Roles

On Thursday in Orlando, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel addressed attendees of The AnitaB.org Grace Hopper Celebration, an annual gathering that brings the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront.

It was an “amazing” opportunity for Rosenworcel, commenting, “It is great to see it and just be here, because in my two decades of working on technology policy, I have not been in a lot of rooms like this. In fact, I have lost count of the times that I have been the only woman in the room.”

This led Rosenworcel to share how, as Chairwoman of the FCC, she’s broken through a glass ceiling by remaining committed to key passion points — namely bridging the nation’s digital divide, especially with schoolchildren.
