The government reported fewer claims for jobless benefits and big retailers reported solid sales. With good news like that, the buying spree continued on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 121 points, or 1.2%, to 10,139. Broadcasting stocks joined in the advance.
The RBR Radio Index was up 3.240, or 1.2%, to 280.896.
The TVBR Television Index was up 3.078, or 1.8%, to 175.376.
