BUZ'[email protected] comes to Minneapolis

Country’s hottest new hits found a home in the Twin Cities on 12/19 as CBS Radio’s AC 102.9 WLTE Lite FM became BUZ’[email protected].  The station will feature popular Country tunes and artists including the newest releases and hits from Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Band Perry, and Lady Antebellum.  In addition, the station will offer wall to wall country news and info online and through social networks, as well as coverage of all major country music events and happenings, and local concerts from the biggest names in the country community.

Said Jeff Kapugi, VP/Country Programming, CBS Radio: “Country music is rapidly becoming a national pastime and now Minneapolis residents will have a great choice for the latest country music in BUZ’N.  We cannot wait to hire and bring top-notch radio talent to the Twin Cities and connect with the community at local shows and events.”

Lite FM listeners can still hear their favorite AC songs at sister station Adult Hits Jack FM KZJK HD-2.

RBR-TVBR observation: It makes sense. WLTE was tied for 15th in the market and the only Country stations in the market are rim-shotters. It should be noted that Lite FM’s music is heading to HD-2, but not the talent. This does break a bit of a trend though that we’ve been seeing of stations that have recently been blown up were not heading to HD multicast channels.
