Cablevision Systems blasted the arguments made by Fox, CBS, ABC and NBC in a Supreme Court filing last week seeking to shut down Barry Diller’s Aereo, which delivers local broadcasters’ signals to subscribers online in a number of markets. In a statement, Cablevision said the case that broadcasters are making gainst Aereo is a “willful attempt to stifle innovation…We are dismayed by the broadcasters’ brazen attempt, in a case about Aereo, to go after the legal underpinning of all cloud-based services, everything from digital lockers to Cablevision’s own RS-DVR service.”
