MVPD Cablevision notably crossed swords with Fox over carriage rights last Fall for its broadcast properties, after a service disruption that was inconvenient for fans of the NFL and the MLB play-offs. This time however, the two corporations have quietly come to terms for carriage of FNC.
Fox, part of News Corporation, noted that the deal was “…part of the broader programming agreement reached by Cablevision and News Corp last October,” and added that it “…will secure the network’s distribution across Cablevision’s subscriber footprint throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.”
Cablevision’s footprint includes Long Island, Westchester, Fairfield and Bergen counties and encompasses some 3M subscribers.
Fox SVP/affiliate relations Tim Carry commented, “We are pleased to have worked with Cablevision to reach a fair agreement that allows us to continue our partnership providing FOX News Channel programming to Cablevision customers.”
