Carl’s Jr. is welcoming in the warmer weather with its newest seasonal offering: the Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich. To help celebrate the “Hawaiian Summer,” Carl’s Jr. will run the “Hula” ad, featuring a hungry surfer and his hula girl, to support the new Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich. “Bikini,” featuring The Hills star Audrina Patridge on the beach in a sizzling gold-lamé bikini, will air in support of the Teriyaki Burger. Both ads, via Mendelsohn|Zien LA, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from Audrina’s shoot are available on the Carl’s Jr. YouTube channel.

Julie McLean, CKE Restaurants spokesperson, tells RBR-TVBR the Hawaiian Summer ads will air on radio and television in all district marketing areas where they have Carl’s Jr. restaurants –the western states. It airs during sports programs and other programming aimed at 18-34 Men.

The new sandwich includes a charbroiled chicken breast, sweet-and-savory teriyaki glaze, charbroiled Dole pineapple, Swiss cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato and mayonnaise, all on a honey-wheat bun.

Burger lovers can still enjoy the popular Teriyaki Burger, which became a permanent menu item around this time last year. In 2007, Carl’s Jr. was the first major fast-food restaurant chain to offer a teriyaki burger with grilled pineapple.
