CBS grabs some Olympic gold

NBC and its sister cable nets may have had the exclusive rights in Beijing, but CBS is getting some glitter from Olympic gold medals as well. Several American Olympians who won gold are appearing this week on the “Late Show with David Letterman.”

Last night it was US Women’s Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Shawn Johnson. In addition to her gold medal, which she won in the balance beam exercise, she also took home three silver medals — in team, individual all-around and floor exercises.

Tonight Letterman On welcomes US Olympic Decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay, who became the first American to win the event since Dan O’Brien in 1996.

As previously announced, US Women’s Olympic Beach Volleyball gold medalists Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor will visit the “Late Show” on Wednesday.

The “Late Show with David Letterman” is a production of Worldwide Pants. Barbara Gaines, Maria Pope, Jude Brennan and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
