CBS Paramount kills deals, too

CBS Paramount Network TV yesterday became the second TV studio after ABC Studios to terminate production deals under the force majeure provision. Universal Media Studios, Warner Bros. TV and 20th Century TV will likely follow suit any time now. "Production companies in the entertainment industry continue to feel the impact of the ongoing writers strike," CBS Paramount said in a statement justifying the termination letters. "As a result of this change in development and production activity, we have made a difficult decision to discontinue overall deals with a number of writers and producers whose talents we greatly value and respect."
