Cars for Courage, Courage Center’s vehicle donation program, invites all boat lovers to donate their worthy vessels to the first annual Cars for Courage Boat Drive. The event is sponsored by the Excelsior Chamber of Commerce, BayView Event Center and CBS Radio. The event is set for Sunday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the BayView Event Center, Excelsior, Minn.
Cars for Courage accepts boats, cars, trucks, jet-skis, ATVs, motorcycles and any other “motor” of value. The first 50 people who donate at this event receive a two-hour cruise on BayView Event Center’s ship “Her Excellence” starting at 3 p.m. Personalities from WCCO-AM, JACK-FM and WLTE-FM will be on location promoting the event.
Last year, 2,570 people donated 2,670 vehicles at a total value of $2,070,739 to Cars for Courage. Proceeds support the programs and services of Courage Center, a nonprofit rehabilitation and resource center that advances the lives of children and adults experiencing barriers to health and independence. Courage Center specializes in treating brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, chronic pain, autism and disabilities experienced since birth.
