CBS season-premiere of 'Survivor: Nicaragua' takes second place

The premiere of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA placed first in its new Wednesday (8:00-9:00 PM) time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 with year-to-year gain in all measures, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 15.


Opposite “America’s Got Talent” (NBC), “Masterchef” (FOX) and “America’s Next Top Model” (CW), SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA won its time slot in adults 25-54 (5.2/14), adults 18-49 (4.0/13), adults 18-34 (2.6/09) and placed second in households (6.8/12) and viewers (12.23m). 

SURVIVOR was the night’s No.1 program in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

Compared to last September’s SURVIVOR: SAMOA first episode (on Thursday, 9/17/09), SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA SPECIAL was up +13% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/13), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 3.6/11), +8% in adults 18-34 (from 2.4/08) and added +560,000 viewers (from 11.67m, +5%). 

The finale of BIG BROTHER was tied for first in adults 18-34 (2.4/08, with NBC), second in households (4.5/08), viewers (7.86m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08).  This was the best rating for BIG BROTHER on any night this season in adults 25-54 and matches the best adults 18-49 performance this season.   

BIG BROTHER was first in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 from 10:00-11:00 PM.

Compared to last year’s season finale (on Tuesday, September 15, 2009), BIG BROTHER 12 WEDNESDAY was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/08), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.8/08), even in adults 18-34 and added +70,000 viewers (from 7.79m, +1%). 

For the night, CBS was first in adults 18-34 (2.5/08), second in households (5.3/09), viewers (9.32m), adults 25-54 (4.0/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09, -0.1 behind NBC).
