And in so doing, the station is adding valuable material to the serving-the-public-interest portion of its public file. KLUC-FM is partnering with popular artist Hot Chelle Rae and Cox Communications to encourage Southern Nevada students to participate in an anti-bullying campaign. R&R Partners was involved in creating the campaign.

The campaign is called “Flip the Switch,” and its goal is to get students to participate in the program by voting for the area secondary school of their choice, on the KLUC website. The winning school will be treated to a concert by Rae – and along the way, will have access to the information and resources to combat bullying that are the central theme of the campaign.

“CBS Radio and 98.5 KLUC have always been committed to efforts that make this a better community. We thank them for their partnership, and are excited Hot Chelle Rae has agreed to perform for students who are working to make our schools a safer and more welcoming place,” said Fletcher Whitwell, vice president of media & digital activation at R&R Partners.

“Bullying is a growing problem, and we are happy to play a role in celebrating students who stand up and refuse to accept this behavior as a rite of passage,” said Chet Buchanan, host of Chet Buchanan & The Morning Zoo on 98.5 KLUC.

Each school that wished to compete must register with KLUC; once that has happened, students may vote as often as they wish at kluc.com. The winner will be announced early in November and the concert is targeted for 11/21/11, on or about.
