Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network announced it is the first company to launch real time traffic services over HD Radio channels. The service, which delivers updated traffic info is live and operational in 50 markets today. Dual Electronics has launched the first commercial personal navigation device to offer this service.
The traffic data for this service is created by a combination of Clear Channel’s Total Traffic Network and INRIX floating car data. CCTTN offers current traffic info for 125 metropolitan areas in four countries, supplying real-time traffic data to more than 750,000 paid subscribers. Customers include BMW, MINI USA, Volvo (all of whom offer subscription-free services) as well as device makers ASUS, Garmin, TomTom, Navigon, Nav N Go, Mio Technology, Delphi, Kenwood, Clarion, Harmon Kardon, Panasonic, Siemens, and Cobra Electronics, among others.
