James Atwood Jr. is now non-executive chairman of Nielsen’s board of directors.
He succeeds former Nielsen CEO David Calhoun, who has been executive chair since 2014.
The change was effective Jan. 1.
Atwood was previously the board’s lead independent director. Calhoun will continue to be a member of the Nielsen board as a director.
