In October 2015, Charlie Pavlounis took on the role of SVP/CFO at CBS News, shifting from a C-Suite role at CBS Corp. as Chief Audit Executive.

Now, it seems Pavlounis is leaving to pursue another opportunity. Thank social media platform LinkedIn for making the news official.

Pavlounis offered the statement “ready to start the next chapter of my career” midday Tuesday in sharing a Variety story that broke the news of his exit from CBS News.

Inside CBS News, President Susan Zirinsky notified staffers via e-mail.

“I have no doubt Charlie will continue to explore his passion for combining his financial discipline with identifying new content and distribution opportunities in media during the next chapter of his impressive career,” said Zirinsky, in the memo obtained by Variety. “We plan to announce Charlie’s successor shortly and we appreciate Charlie remaining through June so that we can have an orderly transition.”

Pavlounis has been with CBS since May 2010, and for three years before that was the Chief Audit Executive and Chief Risk Officer at Dun & Bradstreet. He’s also held the role of VP/Assistant Controller and Internal Controls at IPG, and from 1989-1998 was a senior manager at KPMG U.S.
