TORONTO — For the past 18 years, Ken Wildgoose has led Ajax, Ontario-led ATX Networks, a provider of network infrastructure systems and commercial video solutions, as its President/CEO.
He’s just stepped down from the post, but will remain on the company’s board of directors while becoming an advisor to the company.
Who is replacing Wildgoose? ATX nabbed an individual who has long been associated with broadcast tower giant GatesAir and Harris Broadcast.
Taking the role as ATX Networks President/CEO is Charlie Vogt.
He’s spent the past four successful years in a similar role at Imagine Communications, where he transformed the company from Harris Broadcast to an entity that gave birth to GatesAir, leading the media and broadcast industry’s transition to IP, software and cloud technologies.
Speaking of his successor, Wildgoose said, “Charlie is a visionary and strategic thinker with a decades-long track record of hyper growth in the service provider and media communications industries. His passion and expertise in conjunction with the Company’s talented team and exciting new initiatives in the cable HFC access network and commercial video gateway markets positions ATX for an exciting and promising next chapter.”
Camilo E. Horvilleur, board member of ATX Networks and Managing Director of H.I.G. Capital, took note of Wildgoose’s leadership “through several technology lifecycles and growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions.
Speaking of Vogt, Horvilleur said, “With a distinguished history of successfully building, transforming and growing companies, spanning the service provider and media communications industries, Charlie was a logical choice to succeed Ken.”

Before Harris, Vogt was CEO of GENBAND, a voice and video over IP company. He has also held roles at Lucent (Alcatel), Ascend Communications (Lucent), ADTRAN, Motorola and IBM.
