Cheryl Salomone Charged With Leading A Cumulus Cluster

Cumulus Media, the nation’s No. 2 radio broadcasting company by number of stations, has appointed seasoned broadcasting executive Cheryl Salomone as VP/Market Manager for its four-station group in Fayetteville, N.C.


Cumulus’ properties in the market are comprised of WMGU-FM (Magic 106.9), WQSM-FM (Q98), WRCQ-FM (Rock 103), and WFNC-AM (AM 640 WFNC).

She begins her new duties Oct. 2 and shifts to North Carolina from White Plains, N.Y., where she has held the roles of Director of Non-Traditional Revenue and Local Sales Manager for Pamal Broadcasting’s Adult Alternative WXPK-FM 107.1 “The Peak,” which serves suburban areas of the New York market.

Before that, Salamone was VP/Market Manager for the Salisbury-Ocean City, Md., stations owned by Adams Radio Group.

Her resume also includes roles as a Regional Vice President for Townsquare Media overseeing Tri-Cities and Yakima, Wash., and as GM for Townsquare’s stations in Billings, Montana.

Salamone reports to Cumulus RVP Mark Sullivan, who commented, “I am thrilled to have Cheryl on our team. We’re privileged to have a manager of her caliber and track record of sustained success leading the charge for our great stations in Fayetteville.”
