General Motors announced Friday that all of its Chevrolet advertising account is moving to Publicis after 91 years with Campbell-Ewald, owned by rival mega-agency Interpublic Group. The move completes a transition that began in December when Chevy’s car business was moved to Publicis, leaving Campbell-Ewald with only the Chevy trucks.
“We thank Campbell-Ewald for their many years of dedicated and loyal service on the Chevrolet brand and for the many campaigns such as See the USA in Your Chevrolet, the Heartbeat of America, Like a Rock, and American Revolution,” said Jim Campbell, US Vice President of Marketing for the Chevrolet Division of GM in a statement.
The Campbell-Ewald relationship with the iconic Chevrolet brand predated television by many decades. The YouTube video below is the full-version of the “See the USA in Your Chevrolet” jingle for the 1952 model year, sung by Dinah Shore.
