Consumers can get up to $4.5K from Uncle Sam toward a brand new fuel-efficient automobile if they can trade in an old inefficient gas guzzler. Now Chrysler is adding a 2X – it’ll pay $4.5K cash for a trade-in as well, on top of the government offer. What’s more, the offer is good if your trade-in isn’t inefficient enough to qualify under the clunkers program. Consumers also have the option to take six-year zero-percent financing instead of the cash. The offer last until 8/31/09.
