Church Planters get some FM cropland

The FCC has to tell you where you can “grow” a new FM station, and noncommercial outfit Church Planters of America has just picked up five new locations to sow some seeds. This comes after it recently filed to turn one such location over to Educational Media Foundation.

Church Planters is headed by William Danny Hawkins, and it is the transferee in two new FCC filings, neither of which involves any cash. It is getting four CPs in a merger with Shining Light Ministries in which it will be the surviving entity, and in the second filing, it is receiving a CP as a donation from Frank Townsend’s Dayspring Ministries of Concord Baptist Church.

CPA sold KSJT-FM CP Norfolk NE to EMF in a deal filed 12/17/09 and valued at $35K.

Coming from Dayspring is a Class C1 FM CP earmarked for 89.1 MHz with 57 kw @ 674’.

Coming in the Shining Light merger:

A Class C2 FM CP at Fort Dodge IA on 88.7 MHz with 30 kw @ 230’.

Class C3 KAJF-FM CP Ipswich SD, on 88.5 MHz with 20 kw @ 34’

Class A KOMH-FM CP Marshall MN on 90.7 MHz with 2.5 kw @ 211’.

Class A KPCJ-FM Elk Point SD on 91.9 MHz with 6 kw @ 249’.
