Clear ChannelClear Channel Media and Entertainment/Chicago’s WLIT-FM Lite 93.9 has flipped from an AC to a Hot AC and rebranded as 93.9 MY FM. The new sound kicked off with Ryan Seacrest 6/17 at 9:00AM CT, who introduced the new station to listeners.

93.9 MY FM will play More Variety of the 80’s til Now. The new station will feature a wide range of artists from P!nk to Bon Jovi to Kelly Clarkson, offering listeners commercial free commutes. 93.9 MY FM will announce its programming line-up with local on-air personalities at the end of June.

“We received feedback from thousands of listeners who want a station that is as diverse as Chicago, with commercial free commutes so their drives are full of music,” said Tommy Austin, Vice President of Programming for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Chicago. “93.9 MY FM will play the best songs from the 80’s until now with all different styles and textures, reflecting what our listeners want to hear. MY 93.9 will also continue the Holiday music tradition later in the year.

Fans can listen to 93.9 MY FM on the station’s website, 939myfm.com as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio mobile app.

RBR-TVBR observation: WLIT was running 12th in the market with its AC format. The switch was likely aimed at Hubbard broadcasting’s Modern AC WTMX-FM, which is ranking second in the May PPMs with a 6.4 AQH.

  1. A syndicated program in morning drive in what purports to be a major station in a top five market. The prospect was laughable 10 years ago.
