Clear Channel is planning a radio and outdoor upfront kicking off 7/12 in NYC and running through mid-August, visiting Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago. It will take place in NYC for 2 weeks; then it’s off to Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles in early August.
Some of the folks taking the meetings include Universal McCann, MPG, Deutsch, Aegis/Carat, Initiative, Horizon, OMD, Mediacom, Mediaedge:CIA, Mindshare, Hill Holiday, and Mullen.
The even will be the same as the TV upfronts — people will be able to reserve space early, and volume buys drive additional value. The presentation covers the full Clear Channel platform: radio, digital and outdoor. And they’ll have talent at the presentations as well.
They’ll officially unveil the Clear Channel Create council as well (see related story). So this first ever time the radio/outdoor industry has had an upfront (CC Radio had one in NYC years ago) and John Partilla is bringing the kind of customized creative support to Clear Channel that he was known for at Time Warner via the Clear Channel Create group.
