Clearing the air at Valley Air

0

An FM station operating in Twisp WA was able to duck a $4K fine for omissions to its public file, but we do not recommend the station’s methods to any radio business that wishes to move forward as a going concern. The station is Valley Air LLC’s KCSY-FM. At issue were the issue/program lists, which were said to be missing for a number of quarters due to the GM’s tendency to fall behind in their preparation. The result was a $4K fine. The station pleaded poverty, and had the tax documents to prove its case.

RBR/TVBR observation: We do not recommend operating in the red as a method of nullifying FCC fines, preferring compliance as a sure-fire way to keep them from becoming a budget item.
