Cox Media Group (CMG) Tampa is promoting Dan Connelly to Director of Branding and Programming for Alternative 97X, WSUN-FM, effective immediately. As Director of Branding and Programming, Connelly will be responsible for all programming operations for WSUN, including talent selection, coaching, music scheduling, imaging, brand development, digital strategy and more.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dan for over 15 years,” said CMG Tampa Vice President and Market Manager Keith Lawless. “He has earned this promotion, and no other person has demonstrated their ability to innovate and create brands that connect with their audiences like Dan.”

His career with CMG spans 16 years, and prior to this position, Connelly spent 14 years as the Director of Promotional Operations for WSUN, where he was integral in the creation of 97X’s Next Big Thing Festival and as well as the creation of the award winning 97X listener controlled mobile app. Other career highlights include working for Heritage Media and Cox Radio in upstate New York.
