CNN claims ratings win on healthcare vote

CNN is out with ratings numbers from The Nielsen Company for Sunday, when the US House of Representatives voted to approve President Barack Obama’s sweeping healthcare reform plan.


The stats according to CNN:

CNN tops MSNBC (in both total viewers and the demo) every hour of the day, including primetime during Sunday’s Health Care vote.
In primetime – CNN averaged 2.189 million vs. MSNBC’s 873k in total viewers (a +151% advantage) and 637k vs. 315k in demo 25-54 (+102%).
For Sunday, March 21, 2010 – Health Care Vote:
 
CNN tops MSNBC (in both total viewers and the demo) every hour of the day, including primetime.
In primetime – CNN averaged 2.189 million vs. MSNBC’s 873k in total viewers (a +151% advantage) and 637k vs. 315k in demo 25-54 (+102%).
 
CNN also tops FNC (in both total viewers and the demo) during key hours of 11 pm, midnight, 1 am and 2 am.
During the key hour of 11 pm – CNN averaged approximately a million more viewers than FNC – with CNN posting 3.3 million, FNC followed with 2.369, while MSNBC trailed 1.498 in total viewers.  In the key demo 25-54, CNN had 1.182 million vs. FNC’s 906k vs. MSNBC’s 563k.
