Lockwood Broadcast Group has named John Cochrane GM of indy WSKY-TV, which is licensed to Manteo NC, based in Chesapeake VA and serves the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News DMA. Cochrane was most recently GSM at Raycom’s WCSC in Charleston SC.
“We have known John for a long time and have the utmost respect for him as a person and as a broadcaster. I know he is happy to be back home and the positive reception from clients and the community has been overwhelming,” said Lockwood Broadcast Group President Dave Hanna. “WSKY 4 is a property with unlimited potential and John is the perfect fit for this job and in our group.”
Lockwood’s other markets include Knoxville TN, Charleston-Huntington WV, Huntsville-Decatur AL and Sherman TX-Ada OK. It has a pending deal to acquire WCWG-TV, adding Greensboro/Winston-Salem NC into the company’s footprint.
